How to make your own Fluoride Free Toothpaste

Here is a fluoride free toothpaste recipe using simple, natural ingredients, some of which you may already have in your home. This is a very simple recipe, and here is how to make it.

Coconut oil – it is known to help boost the microbiome in your gut, and naturally prevent candida in the mouth.
Bentonite clay – is a natural polisher, rich in minerals that isn’t too abrasive. Helping to reduce acidity in the mouth.
Bi-carb soda – an alkaline ingredient, that will help to neutralise acids from the foods we eat, without being too abrasive.

1/4 cup aluminium free bi-carb soda
1 teaspoon bentonite clay
2 teaspoons coconut oil
Distilled water or cooled boiled water
6-8 drops peppermint essential oil

In a small glass jar, place the bi-carb soda and bentonite clay and mix with a non metalic utencil as metal will react with the clay
In a separate jug or jar, melt the coconut oil by sitting it in a saucepan of water.
Gently pour the coconut oil into the bi-carb soda and bentonite clay mixture to make a paste. Mix in some water, a little at a time to help create your desired paste thickness and add more coconut oil if needed. Add 5-6 drops of peppermint oil to the mixture
Store out of direct sunlight and use within 6 months.
