With good care and a simple daily maintenance routine, electric toothbrushes will definitely last the distance to perform the job they are meant to do.

The following video will show you how electric toothbrushes are produced.

The Best Buy For You

Some of the most popular brands sold are, Braun Oral-B, Philips, Panasonic, Blu, Colgate and Wagner.

One can very easily get overwhelmed and confused by all the promotions and advertising all these companies do.

My advice to find the electric toothbrush that is the best buy for you is to take your time, don’t rush. Make a list of what must haves and features that are important to you and what you expect to have in your new electric toothbrush.

Here are some features you may consider when starting to make your list:

Style of brush head, Pressure sensor, Timers, Rechargeable or Conventional battery, Phone connectivity, How many modes, Head replacement and compatibility, Motor power, Gum sensitivity, Travel case, etc.

Once this is completed, match your budget to the electric toothbrush that best encompasses your must haves and features.

The higher you move up the price range scale normally means an improvement in the overall quality, durability and more features an electric toothbrush will possess. Have a look here at the best electric toothbrush best brands 2020

The Positives

User friendly – Anyone can use them, just place it in your mouth and the toothbrush do all the work.

Pressure – Many models now have pressure sensors that alert you if you are pressing to hard.

Timers – Built-in timers that stop the brushing process once you’ve hit the coveted two-minute mark or audibly or visually tell you are getting to the 2min.

Excellent results – Electric toothbrushes have been proven to remove plaque quicker than manual ones. All units are carefully tuned to give you the best results with minimal work, for a consistent oral care regime.

Great for kids – It’s sometimes very difficult to get the little ones enthusiastic about brushing their teeth. Using an electric toothbrush nowadays brings some fun into their routine with specifically made models just for them.

The Negatives

Price – If you are looking for a quality, durable electric toothbrush you’ll have to spend more than on a normal toothbrush. You’ll also have to replace heads the recommendation is every three months (this is the same length of time as for a conventional toothbrush replacement).

Energy – To use your toothbrush you’ll have to recharge it regularly (the rechargeable batteries on the latest models and designs have improved immensely and can last many days without a recharge) or remember to replace its batteries on models that use normal batteries.

Strength – An electric toothbrush may be a little too powerful if you suffer from sensitive gums. It might take a little trial and error for you to find one that will suit your requirements and now you can find toothbrushes with different vibration settings and modes.

Remove the Guess Work

Electric toothbrushes take away the guess work out of properly brushing your teeth and make it easy and simple for everyone to always brush correctly.

The positives of an electric toothbrush are so compelling that I feel everyone should be using one. Taking the best care of your teeth will save you thousands of dollars in dental fees.

  1. Hello, Bernie

This was a very comprehensive review of electric toothbrushes.

It was helpful that you listed both the pros and cons.

From my own experience it has been a matter of trial and error.

I’m currently using an Oral B and I am very happy with it.

I didn’t have one as a child as they were not widely available back then. I do think they are helpful for children, particulary the ones with timers as sometimes it was hard to remember to clean for two minutes.

    Best wishes,

    Cameron
